First time GSD owner - any advice?

Getting a GSD puppy in a few weeks! Ive had dogs before but never a shepherd. What do I need to know?

Everyone keeps telling me theyre "a lot" but Im committed to doing this right. What were your biggest surprises as a GSD owner?
