Crate training breakthrough after 3 weeks of hell

For anyone in the trenches of crate training a screaming puppy - there is hope.

My beagle puppy howled for THREE WEEKS every time he went in the crate. My neighbors complained. I cried. I almost gave up.

What finally worked:

- Feeding ALL meals in the crate
- Frozen kongs stuffed with peanut butter
- Covering the crate with a blanket
- Putting the crate right next to my bed (then slowly moving it)
- White noise machine
- Being completely boring and ignoring the crying (hardest part)

Now at 5 months he runs into his crate at bedtime. He actually loves it. I never thought we'd get here.
